The idea for 62 West began with the frustration of not being able to find comfortable dressy polos for my two boys. I'm talking about a shirt they would happily wear to a nice restaurant or Sunday school. They preferred their golf polos, but they were too casual. After realizing what they wanted didn't exist, we decided to create it.
Why Bamboo?
Our first collection of polos will be made from a fabric that is 95% bamboo viscose and 5% spandex. We chose this fabric because of how incredibly silky soft it feels. We were also pleasantly surprised by all the other natural benefits of bamboo fiber:
- Moisture wicking
- Thermo-regulating (keeps you cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter)
- Static-free
- Wrinkle-free
- Durable - you can wash and dry these shirts with the rest of your laundry
So many stores are filled with incredibly cheap fashion, produced through unsafe working conditions, and full of harmful chemicals. That’s why we are creating a product that is not only more sustainable but is made ethically in a local factory and is gentle on your child’s skin.
